There has been a sudden flurry of activity. Earlier this week, I heard from everyone who has died lately that I have any connection to. Some of those connections are people that I have known for a very long time. Most of them had messages for their families. Most elderly people who die are happy to have passed on, though very religious people don’t have an easy entry to the afterlife. My aunt just died at 94, and I went to her memorial at the cemetery on our family plot. We have the largest statue in the cemetery on the Masonic side. There was a lot of talk about the family and how connected they were to the town that they helped found. It was a lovely service.
Some of those connections are tenuous. For example, I heard from Jose. He wanted me to call his mother and apologize to her for the mistakes that he made that led to his death. Did he make mistakes? My argument to him is that he accidentally got drunk because his liver wasn’t functioning properly. He went to two houses to try to get help and nobody would help him, which is a truly awful thing to deny assistance to a young, drunk college kid. Could he have gone to other houses? Of course he could have, but he was drunk and it was cold, and he was starting to freeze. Instead, he went into a culvert and froze to death. His parents were devastated. But life is often devastating. I advised him to go talk to God/Goddess or one of the other young people that did something unwise that led to their deaths. He later assured me that he had talked to other guides and felt comforted.
I was also contacted by George, who wanted me to apologize to his wife for killing himself. I had heard from him before when I was in his house, and all he really told me was that he really liked me. Now he wanted me to tell his wife that he didn’t realize what hardship it would cause her. He was a smart guy, and I can’t believe he couldn’t figure that out. The one thing he may not have known is if they can’t find the body then you have to wait years to get a death certificate. He told me where his body was, but wasn’t very specific. I did call his wife’s brother, my high school boyfriend, and asked him to ask his sister if he wanted to hear something from George. She called me a few days later, and I told her that he apologized. Someone found his body a few days after that. I think the god/goddess had a hand in this because I am their daughter, and I care about my friends.
In life, you have to forgive yourself, and in death you have to forgive yourself. You are enough as you are. We all make mistakes. Then we go on to another lifetime and learn more and become better.
